Isolation - The Hero's Journey Art Prize
aMBUSH Gallery, in partnership with Kambri at ANU, called on Australian-based artists to create contemplative and thought-provoking posters capturing the essence of this historic time, using the classic ‘Hero’s Journey’ narrative arc as a framework.
Isolation was selected as a finalist and exhibited in an online exhibition, and at aMBUSH Gallery at Kambri, Australian National University during October and November 2020. This image was created as a visual response to experiences of lock-down during the Covid-19 pandemic. It expresses the feeling of confinement and being bound to your home for weeks, and for some people, months on end. This work is dedicated to the everyday hero, the ones who stay home to save lives; making sacrifices, giving up their regular routine, staying away from friends and family, all for the health and safety of their communities.
